Hey, Rowdy Christians. We recently took a trip to Lafayette Louisiana for Tactics Con.
Turns out Louisiana had their version of "snow-magedon" the same week of the conference. When it snows in the south like it did that week everything either stops or slows to a crawl.
We had our hotel booked in advance like good boys and girls but the day before we arrived the hotel notified us that there was no running water.
So, the hunt for a new hotel began. We called several hotels only to be told that they were booked up. There was in influx of out-of-town workers, there to fix infrastructure problems caused by the prolonged freezing weather.
Last year at Tactics Con. many people stopped by the Rowdy booth to buy: shirts, hats, hoodies and mugs. A handful of them made sure we had a place to stay and offered us lodging if needed.
We've experienced God's timely blessing so many times in our lives. I'm sure you can think of those times in your own life. We knew we would be alright. Even if we had to sleep in the van (not our first option).
So, without hesitation we made a call to some friends we had met the previous year. Turns out their pool house was available. What's more, they had running water. What a blessing!
The Saints of Christ Church in Lafayette and Opelousas are alive and well and ready to serve. We cherish the great conversations and fellowship we had and look forward to being with you all again later this year.
Get Rowdy. Stay Rowdy,
